The rumor on the street is that we will be moving into our offices this weekend. Oh yeah!! Here is a sneak peak inside the office complex. Check it out for yourself on Sunday after the annual meeting!

The new structure of the Narthex is really coming together. I can't wait!!! All the doors are on the new bathrooms and storage closet. I think we should be in our new offices by the first of November.

October 3

This week has seen a lot of changes, not only in the weather but the building. I think this is one of the first weeks we have seen a lot of structural stuff being done. It is all slowly coming together.

Paul tells us that he is done destroying things and they are putting it all back together. There is crazy fun construction going on today. They are putting in the steel beams for the Narthex and all the concrete is poured. We snuck into the new office complex, and our doors have been put up. I think we are only two weeks away from a completed office complex...but with inspections, it won't be until the end of October till it is really finished. It has been a very loud week of drilling and machines, but it is all worth it!

Ladies and Gentleman, we have concrete. That was by far the coolest thing to watch this Friday. And I couldn't resist putting my initials in the concrete, along with a cross that didn't turn out as I thought it should. I need to work on my concrete writing skills!

How weird does this look? The church is missing a few walls! :)

The roof, the roof, the roof is....GONE! and not because of Ike. It is so very weird to be standing in the Narthex and not have a roof over your head. The Narthex is officially down, so make sure to only use the side entrance into the Sanctuary. They are pouring concrete for the new walk way on Friday. The outdoor space is almost finished!

Sept 17

A little of this and a little of that. Not much going on. The blackout halted work for a few days. They are working on the outdoor worship space, and our office doors came.

Welding, painting, building...oh my! Busy day around GDLC. I caught a spark from the welders, which was not what I had intended to do...I guess I should stay out of their way. They are painting the new storage closet, and finishing the stalls. One of those pictures is the new hallway leading to the office complex. I think they should leave the opening that small. It will be like a game to get to and from the office.

They poured the concrete for the addition to the Narthex. The stalls are being installed and the new restrooms should be up and running by Thursday!

August 29

They took the glass out of the Narthex so they could pour concrete. It is very dark in the Narthex. Other than that, not much is going on. I did discover that there are motion sensor lights in the new bathrooms, we are so green here!

Houston, we have walls! They put up the drywall in Debbie's work area today!!! The electrician is putting the wiring in for the walkway. The door people are putting in the double door for the new outdoor worship space. Roof, part 2, is ready to go. The first roof was the wrong color! Finally, Paul (super amazing man from Ashley) worked his tail off getting everything ready for Preschool! It all looks so super amazing. Yippee construction.

The bathrooms and closet are nearly finished! They set foundation for the addition to the Narthex and my office has drywall sitting in it! Eeeekkk! It is all so exciting.
